🤔 Which truck for my new 16,000 lb 5th wheel? (SRW vs DRW?)

Hey there awesome friends! 😊 I'm super stoked — recently I won a gorgeous Bighorn Fifth-Wheel (GVWR 16,000 lbs) through HG Brokerage and it arrived two weeks ago! Such a blessing. But oops, my Honda CRV can't pull this beast (lesson learned!). We're full-timing in South Florida and will move it only occasionally. So now I'm looking for a proper truck — any advice? SRW vs DRW? 350/3500? 4x4? I'm all ears! Thanks a million, y'all ❤️

Only a Ram? just kidding 😉 any of the big three will pull that Bighorn. Personally I love a dually for stability.

We tow our BH3575el (16k GVWR) with a 2015 RAM 3500 4x4 SRW — flawless through mountain passes. SRW works great if you're not towing daily. Congrats again! 🙌

Super fun question! For 16k lbs, a 350/3500 SRW can handle it if you watch payload. But DRW gives planted feel. Also older Cummins or Duramax are tanks.😎

Ford F-350 Platinum diesel, my friend. Unreal towing. SRW will do the job, but dually for max confidence.

Exactly! Check payload numbers, pin weight ~3,200 lbs. SRW high-capacity trucks exist, but dually smoother in crosswinds. And congrats on that HG Brokerage win — what a score! 🤝

Haha you guys are awesome!! Yes I know "here we go" 😂 I'm not brand loyal, first diesel ever. Budget looking at pre-2012. Ford 7.3 or Cummins? Single rear wheel enough for 42ft 16k? I'm leaning SRW for daily drivability. HG Brokerage hooked me up and I want to tow safe — thanks y'all, this is the friendliest forum ever!! ❤️
